As Technical Director Grant is responsible for internal checking/approving designs, site inspections, project, staff  and client management.

When designing Grant is responsible for a wide variety of projects, ranging from housing developments to nuclear power station decommissioning. Grant am responsible for the detailed design, calculations, drawing production and material estimates for tube and fitting and system scaffold.

Grant has extensive experience in Network Rail design checks of varying degree of complexity (Cat. II/Cat III form C) for all major contractors, including design and independent checks for Tay rail Bridge, Waverly Station Renewal and Airdrie to Bathgate Rail Link.

Grant has also been seconded, to provide designs services directly for Doosan Power Systems on work within Sellafield.

Grant holds the relevant access and security clearance for the sites listed below:

  • INEOS Oil refinery Grangemouth,
  • BP Kinneil, Oil Stabilisation and Gas Processing plant
  • BP Hound Point, Crude oil offshore loading Jetties.
  • Shell / Exxon, Mossmorran Natural Gas Liquid Plant
  • Dow Chemicals
  • Rosyth Dockyard, Naval Dockyard
  • Sellafield, Nuclear Power Station

Regularly use AutoCAD, SCIA Engineer, S-Frame, Beam Pal and Microsoft office software.

 Temporary Works Co-ordinator – Doosan Power Systems Sellafield – December 2013

 Responsible for the co-ordination of all scaffolding on the Separation Area Ventilation Project. Role includes the supervision and checking of as built scaffold in accordance with British Standards, designs drawings and co-ordination of designs with project programme.  I also ensure any on site modifications to scaffolds are drawn to the attention of the designers, with changes recorded.

From graduate design engineer to senior engineer working on a wide variety of Highway and Trunk roads schemes.  Responsible for tender and detailed design of schemes, Feasibilty Reporting, Value for Money Reporting and Contract Documentation for a varierty of clients and stakeholders.

Transport Scotland  (TS) [Previously Scottish Executive]

Seconded to TS as a Project Manager within Trunk Road Infrastructure and Professional Services division.  Responsible for the project management of the A9 Ballinluig Junction Improvement. As project manager I was responsible for co-ordinating and day to day management of external Consultants, Agent Authorities and Network Rail.
